Using the Export Tables function in combination with the Import Tables is one of the powerful ways to:
The Export Tables function enables users to specify which of the system tables to export, and whether to fill the Microsoft XLS spreadsheet with the current table data or to leave it blank. The date, field names, description, and characteristics are contained in a Table Name_Phase Number_Instructions. HTML file . A Schema .xml file is created to define the data structures exported so that they can then be imported back into the system.
When used along with the Import Tables options, users can extract data from their existing system into a XLS spreadsheet, convert their extract to the Net•Yield export file layout using the instruction.html file for field sort order and characteristics, and then import the file into Net•Yield using the Import Tables option to build the table without manually entering the information in Net•Yield. The user can also manually enter the information into the Net•Yield export table XLS spreadsheet and import in the information without manually adding the information into the Net•Yield tables.
Export Tables can also be created during the Import Tables option if a field value being imported is not found in the Net•Yield table. The user will be prompted to create an import file for the table that is missing a value. For example, if the customer table being imported contains values for sales rep IDs and the sales reps have not been defined in the Net•Yield sales rep table, the user will be prompted to create a sales rep export table that will contain the missing sales rep IDs.
The Export table option can also be used to quickly change a single field or multiple fields in the tables via the export XLS spreadsheet. The user can export the table with the fields that need to be selected, edit the spreadsheet, and then import the table using Import Tables.
